The German wind energy players are known worldwide as innovative leaders.
The world market for wind power is facing a very positive political environment. To create a connection to the Western world, emerging countries like China, India and Brazil must meet their growing energy needs increasingly through renewable energy.
Furthermore, renewable energy plays an important role in meeting targets under the Kyoto Protocol. The participating countries must reduce their CO2 emissions greatly, which can only be sustainably achieved through the use of renewable energy. In 2005, China even passed a law to promote renewable energy, making it a great market for the future!
The German Wind Energy Institute (DEWI) predicts that by 2014 around 210,000 megawatts of wind capacity will be installed worldwide. That means a global investment of about 130 billion euros. Industry associations are even expecting an investment of 200 billion euros by 2020.
